SOLAR PANELS FOR HOMES

Solar panels for homes have been designed to convert sunlight into electricity for self-consumption in the home. The solar cells distributed on their surface absorb light energy and with it, generate an electric field capable of producing and supplying electric current.

Although years ago their implementation was expensive, complex and reserved for large industries capable of paying the price of their installation and maintenance, the use of domestic solar panels has progressively become a common element in rustic or urban homes.

Self-consumption of electricity is an increasingly obvious and logical reality: on the one hand, using a renewable energy source such as the sun to produce electricity is much more environmentally friendly and, on the other, it means a reduction in the periodic electricity bill.

WHAT DO I NEED TO INSTALL SOLAR PANELS AT HOME?

Once you have made the decision to install solar panels, you can count on us to study your case and offer you a quote that fits your needs and those of your home.

For the installation of solar panels, our specialists will assess the form and state of your roof to determine if it is possible to install the solar panels on the roof of the house or, if, on the other hand, it is necessary to study other options such as in the patio or garden.

The solar panels we install have an estimated life span of 40 years and require minimal periodic maintenance to ensure their smooth functioning.

The installation of solar panels depends on the surface where they will be located (roofs, floors, solar farms) and based on this the type of panels to be installed, the form, elevation and orientation are decided.

The vast majority of solar panel installations are connected to the electricity grid. This allows us to know how much energy is being produced, to compensate for surplus energy and, on the other hand, to resort to the traditional electricity grid in the event of not producing enough solar energy.

HOW TO INSTALL A SOLAR PANEL AT HOME?

The first step in the installation of solar panels is the visit of one of our renewable energy specialists to know your needs and expectations, study the place where the self-consumption installation could go and clear any doubts regarding functioning, benefits, times and prices. This visit will be necessary to work on a customized design that adapts to the roof structure and that will allow to connect the solar panels to the electrical installation you have at home.

PRICES OF SOLAR PANELS AT HOME

Do you want to buy solar panels for your home, but don’t know their price? It is very common to ask how much it costs to install solar panels at home, and even more if you aren’t yet familiar with this topic.

The growing need to become aware of the environmental impact generated by our lifestyle has made renewable energies gain prominence in the debate on what we can do to be more environmentally friendly. Based on that same need electricity self-consumption is increasing as a way to ensure that the energy used for our everyday life is as clean as possible.

In the last decade, the price of photovoltaic solar panels for homes has fallen considerably. This drop is due to the development of domestic installations and the expansion of a market that has already grown enough for competition to lower costs. The price of installing a solar panel system will depend on the energy needs of the home and, therefore, on the photovoltaic power installed.

The installation has a life span of around 40 years and whose amortization will depend on the consumption, self-consumption subsidies received, etc.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

There are two types of solar panels: photovoltaic panels, which generate electricity through chemical processes, and solar thermal panels that use solar energy to heat water and with it, obtain clean energy for domestic use. The type of solar panel installed depends on the particular needs of each home, but, in general, photovoltaic panels offer a better performance, as they allow the electricity supply. The number of solar panels will depend on the size of the house and the energy needs, the area where it is located and the orientation of the roof.

The average dimensions of a solar panel for a house is 165 cm high, 100 cm wide and 4 cm deep. In the case of solar cells, the size is around 15 cm high and 15 cm wide.

To determine the number of solar panels required to supply a three-storey house, it is important to know how much electricity is consumed in that house. An adult consumes an average of 850 kWh of electricity per year, for which a system of 1kW solar panels would be required, while a family of more than 4 members with an average consumption of 3,400 kWh per year will need a 4kW system to supply.

Electricity in a country home usually covers the use of household appliances, general lighting, water pump and some other device for domestic use. To choose the most suitable photovoltaic system, it is necessary to take into account its electricity consumption: if it is a holiday home, a daily use kit of 800W will be sufficient; if it is a permanent residence, perhaps a little more power is needed and a 1500 or 2000W kit might be recommendable.
